Economic Club Kicks-Off Luncheon Series
The Chamber Foundation’s popular Economic Club luncheon series
begins a new program year at the Life Celebration Reception Center on Friday, September 24 at 11: 45 a.m., featuring Ken Ackerman, Chairman, Integrated Healthcare Strategies. Mr. Ackerman will speak on “Healthcare Reform and Governance Best Practices Required in Unforgiving Times.”
Mr. Ackerman brings a distinguished career in health care administration encompassing management of hospital-based multi-specialty medical group practices and acute care facilities; executive level involvement in the nation’s largest rural health care system, Geisinger Health System in Pennsylvania, where he served as president of Geisinger Medical Center. More recently,
he served as president of Integrated Healthcare Strategies, and prior to that appointment he was vice president of McManis Associates, Inc., prominent national consultants to the health care industry based in Washington D.C.
Integrated Healthcare Strategies clients include more than 1,200 major health care providers; nearly 1,800 hospitals and over 500 physician groups, including: the largest not-for-profit health care systems in the country; academic medical centers; children’s hospitals; large integrated provider networks and systems; and national and state health care associations.
Mr. Ackerman is an acknowledged expert on executive compensation plans and issues involving governance of integrated delivery systems and medical group practices. A Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) as well as the American College of Medical Practice Executives (ACMPE), Mr. Ackerman is also a past president of the Medical Group Management Association and a past
chair of its strategic planning and government relations committees.
